So this happened in my Canadiens franchise.

-I offered out Bryan Allen to all teams and only got offered Zach Redmon from COL. I accepted because Allen was in the AHL and this saved 1 mil in cap but then they rejected.

-offered him out again same thing happens

-offered him out 2 more times got nothing

-waived him and he cleared

-offered him out and got like 15 offers and accepts a 2nd rounder from EDM.

What's the best way to Create a Player for Early Access?

Go to TBL, download their EHM:EA 2007 rosters. Download the pre-game editor. Creat your players, make your changes, etc. Save the database. Open EHM:EA and click import 2007 database.

That's something that happened in EHM 2007 also.

Real life:

-I offered out Daniel Briere to all teams. Got no offers.

-Waived him and he cleared.

- Trade him and a 3rd for Gratton and a 4th.

Not all that unrealistic. The circumstances and his value are obviously different, but trading a player after they already cleared waivers happens in reality.

^^^ Jesus Christ man lol. While that may be possible to do in this game 1) Salary cap hell in a few years and 2) I personally try to play the game a little more realistic than that because I think its more fun to develop prospects, make the occasional trade and what not

See I am impatient and need to make moves as often as possible. If I go an offseason without trades or signings I will probably just quit.

That's kind of why I wanted some feedback. Is everyone doing what I am doing or taking a different approach? I am glad to hear people take it more realistically. I just have to keep improving every spot.

Ya it's quite easy to do. GMs at the draft haven't had time to 'determine' if the just drafted prospect is a future franchise player, so they'll usually just trade them for similar value.

On a sidenote, does anyone know if its possible to do off-season training for prospects?

How often do you usually play your back up goalie?

It depends. I've had seasons where my backup goalie was a youngster so I let him play against the lesser team in a back-to-back. Lundqvist retired and now I have to youngsters and try to let them play 40-ish games each to see which one is better.

I had 17th pick in the 2016 draft and the number 1 prospect fell to me. The draft class as a whole didn't look great.

Also got McDavid in 2015 after winning the lottery and he was terrible in his first year. Anyone else have McDavid advice to maximize him. Currently on a line with Palat and Simmonds in Philly.

McDavid needs a couple of seasons to develop properly... his stats are not great to start, but he gets better slowly, same for Eichel.

Personally, I sent McDavid to juniors the first season

Girardi just got traded to the Oilers for Matt Lashoff and a 3rd round pick...

Oilers are not supposed to pull this kind of steal

So far I'm into my 3rd season and I'm still employed thankfully.

I made it to the playoffs in my 2nd season and in spite of that, the board is still not pleased with me. I gave them what they wanted, a playoff appearance. Sheesh!

My prospect Max Domi is doing well but Duclair is busting hard.

I agree. When I started playing EHM, I did more like what he's doing in just acquiring the best because it's easy to manipulate. He also has a lot of prospects who may seem like they'll be studs in real life but in the game might not turn out so well.

I'm trying to manipulate the game best I can to beat all the records..

I've beaten all of Gretzky's records except single season assist (I was close..)
and Hainsworth's Shutout record (17 shutouts is the best I was able to do so far)
