Can we talk about what a find and instant contributor Tolvanen has been? The guy have been money from day 1. Another great job by GMRF. I love watching this guy play.
Tolvanen was a great find to date and has pushed Donato and Geekie to part time roles. He's a natural RWinger that has learned to play the LeftWing. Besides that he's young 23 years old and in a few years time that will help when some of our vets become GreyBeards. And did I say anything about Tolvanen shot...just blistering!!! Goaltenders can't save what they can't see! And the Kraken can roll 2 legit PP units with sniper Tolvanen ready to tee off from the RWing. When the Expansion draft all happened I was ticked that teams like Nashville got stash away talent like Tolvanen. Seems GMFrancis had his eyes or eyes on him too. Great great find and skill and he doesn't mind doing the little things to help the team win which is a bonus

Always liked his game, but it never seemed to click with the Preds. He's skating with confidence now. Credit to GMRF for taking a chance on the kid.

They consistently played him on the left wing and had him develop his two-way game and didn't want to put him on the right side to reap the benefits. Glad he's finally a 0,5ppg player! I think he can hit 50 points next season!

What has happened with Tolvanen? 25 hits in 5 games against Avalanche??? He was never supposed to be physical and now he hits most in the series? Is he beeing used in a shutdown-role? Havent seen the games, so would like to hear about him more.

Preds made him an allround forward. He traded his powerplay goal scoring for this, I guess.

He’s been on the shutdown line all along, just scoring goals on it. Now the Kraken have really stepped up the physicality. Somehow Hakstol has gotten this out of almost everybody on the team.

Counterattack hockey. It really works for some players. Reminds me of a guy back in the day named Chris Kelly. Kelly was a great bottom 6 forward and PK specialist. If Tolvanen grows in that direction he'll have a long career.

Whoever told you he wasn't a two-way forward was simply wrong. The Predators developed him and the Kraken are benefitting. His calling card is his shot, but he's played since Jan. 1 on the line the Kraken matchup against the opponent's top line to shut them down. He also plays on the PP units on either half-wall.

Saying Tolvanen has exceeded expectations is an understatement. Best thing about it is that he is signed through the end of next season for 1.5M AAV and is an expiring RFA (arbitration eligible) at that point.
I'll grant you that.

But honestly, he's playing as I had expected him to. He's still young and developing, but his game had come along fairly quickly in the Nashville system, particularly a lot of the little things like his defense, reading the play, etc. He clearly had talent but had struggled for a while under John Hynes, and short on ideas they just gave up on him.

One thing, oddly enough, that I think he can focus on is his shot. While he has always had a blistering shot, he goes through periods where his accuracy just isn't dialed in. If he can get that laser cannon of his crossed with pinpoint accuracy somehow, he'd earn himself a really nice contract.

I think the Kraken shutdown line, that he’s on, has been outstanding and largely responsible for the successes the team has had in the playoffs… along with Grubauer. He’s doing his job and doing it well. You’ll notice looking at the Kraken player stats that nobody really stands out much in any category as it’s definitely a team effort.

Tolvanen - Gourde - Bjorkstrand.

Most important line on the team, at least in the playoffs.
