1. Klefbom is nice, but we don't need him currently. Ottawa isn't competing and he doesn't fit the time line.
2. I do not want to see Chiasson anywhere near Ottawa again. One of my least favorite Senators of all time.

Decline from the Oilers. You take away Klefbom without replacing him with a better option on D and you're left with Nurse playing top D minutes which is one of the worst ideas out there.

I want no part of Duclair. He’s likely looking for 4.5 on a multi year deal. He’s been good for Ottawa but flamed out on other clubs. Moving a #2D (our #1) who’s on a value contract for that just isn’t even remotely reasonable

This might end up being the first time all Oil fans stay in agreement. Even Klefbom’s biggest critics wouldn’t agree to this

So Edmonton is picking up 2 guys to ride on the coat tails of McDavid and Drai while giving up a top 4 d-man whose minutes they can't replace.... and that D-man is on an amazing contract.

If Ottawa throws in 5th overall and Edmonton throws in their 1st rounder, I'll bite.... but I realize that isn't compatible with Ottawa's interests as they're a rebuilding team.
