I like this. Upshall-Brodz-Kass 4th line would be nice. Also allows Khaira to move up to 3rd line or even 2nd line where he had success last year with Drai.

Remember seeing some stat from 3 or 4 years ago about how Upshall is essentially the most average player in the league. I always think of that when his name comes up. Probably not a bad add for Edmonton even if he only ends up being a camp invite.

I wanted him in Edmonton a long time ago. At this point he might be a good 4th liner or 13th forward.

He seemed less effective last year in STL but he’s still a good bottom line guy. He and Brodziak were 2/3 of a good fourth line.

There is a lot of competition for those 3 spots including: Rattie, Aberg, Caggiula, Khaira, Marody and Yammamoto who IMO is a lock to start in the NHL based of how Chia and the coaching staff talk about him. Not sure he will be able to land a spot of best of luck to him, we want the best team possible.

I would have signed him outright as well, but a PTO is fine.

I’m guessing it’s just a formality. We brought back Gryba on a PTO before giving him a two year deal.

There is no stat that can determine the most average player in the league.
