But man oh man, Chia made Koskinen a rich man in like 6 months. 16M bucks for KHL resume and less than 30 starts for EDM

That could be risky, but he's been solid behind a horrifyingly bad defense. Goalies are just so inconsistent, and I'm not sure that 30 games should get you a three year contract at 1A prices.

Spending $8-10M on Bob would have been riskier, and beyond him there isn't much out there.

In all fairness (and not intentionally defending Chiarelli here), 1A free agent prices are actually higher than this most of the time.

I have only watched the Calgary game from him and he was the main reason it wasn't a 10-2 game.
