Yep, he traded all of those picks for what has amounted to be nothing currently. Just let that sink in for a bit.
I apologize to all those who have been giving us grief about Holland since the beginning and have been ridiculed. You guys were right

Honestly, man, I was sincerely hoping to be wrong. I want a winner as much as anyone. This isn't how you do it, though. This is such a Buffalo move.

Hopefully he gets booed so hard he retires and leaves Chicago with a $4M cap penalty next year

Gee, I wonder why players don't want to play here.

It's not his fault Holland bungled the situation, but I wouldn't put it past this fan base to do something as idiotic as you're suggesting.

I’m really worried that some f***ing idiots are going to turn this into a “no one will ever want to come to Edmonton…ever” situation, if the online reactions are any indication.

The trade stinks but have the maturity to not hold it against the player.

Keith requested the trade. If he never opened his mouth he wouldn't be here.

Hope so, hopefully then they fold the franchise since no one will ever want to come here again

Oilers breezed into 2 playoffs and forgot to lace their skates both times. Pretty sad when Chi loopholes in and Toews out wills McD, then the only emotion showed this year was in the last game

Clearly that desire has to manifest from somewhere, and McD can't be the only guy

I don't expect Keith to world beat during the season, this was playoff move

Let's be honest. We're all gonna pull for Keith and cheer for him. Any of his struggles isn't gonna be blamed on him but the inept GM that somehow lost the favorable trade. If Ken Holland doesn't get a goalie and a top 6 winger this off season, him along with Nicholson need to get canned immediately. I already think Holland's done enough damage as it is.

Good:
- RNH Contract
- Signing Barrie
- Drafting Holloway
- Signing Smith
- Trading for Neal

Bad:
- Trading for Green
- Kassian Contract
- Signing Turris
- Chaisson contract
- Signing Jurco, Granlund, etc.
- Whatever the f*** this is

Ambivalent/Wait-To-See/Bad Luck
- Trading for AA
- Drafting Broberg
- Signing Shore
- Signing Kahun, Ennis, Nygard, Haas

Yep.

That's about how I broke it down...

But now consider that I think he just plain got lucky with Smith, Lucic was pretty much a wash, and I'm not Barrie' biggest fan either.

I really tried to be optimistic but I never had a good feeling about Holland.

I'm just rambling/venting of course and I think I need to couch this with saying I do like Keith and think he can improve the blue line. I also think Holland doesnt need to win every single move to build a strong team.

But woooooo man is this ever f***ing nutz. Like its crazy.....isnt it? Like totally f***ing rubbing peanut butter on your door knob and rubbing your nipples on it full blown nuts?

Leavins, Matheson, Rishaug and the rest aren’t shit stains, they just have quite possibly the worst hockey opinions ever.

Now staples? That’s a shitstain

Funny you should mention Buffalo , I will post it one more time ,

Hello Buffalo my old friend
I come to talk with you again
Because a draft was softly creeping
Left seeding while I was sleeping
And the drafting that was planted
In my brain still remains
within the sound of draft parties
in empty arenas I walked alone
Narrow corridor of dead dreams
Neath the halo of the scoreboard lights
I turned my collar to cold and damp
where my eyes were stabbed by flash
of a new report that split night
and touched the sound of draft parties
And in the score board lights
I saw 10 thousand people maybe more
People laughin with out speakin
People knowing without listeng
People writing postings , that voices never share
And no one dare disturb the sound of drafting
Fools said GMs , You do not know
Trades like a cancer grows
Hear Holland words that he might teach you
take my trades that I might teach you
but my words like silence raindrops fell
and echoed in the arena well of silence
and people bowed down to the Hockey god they have made
and Holland flashed out his warnings
in his words that were fuming
and the signs said the words of McJesus prophets
are written on the walls of Rogers place
and the practice sites
and McJesus whisper'd in the sound of silence
trade me now .

This team's inability to sit still and do nothing when the alternative is doing something terrible, never ceases to amaze me. Duncan Keith does not move the needle. Even if they traded him to us for free, I wouldn't do that. People talking about how retaining would have cost us more can shove it. Gotta know how to walk away from those garbage deals.

How many intangible old men "winners" do the Lightning have again? Anyone? Anyone?

Yep.
While I think Broberg will be an NHL player, this entire board was screaming for Zegras at the time of the pick....and that decision looks even more suspect having the glut of LHD we have always had. When a bunch of forum goes could make the right call but a paid professional can't...

I think it's safe to put that in the bad category and I say that as someone who likes Broberg as a player but doesn't like the pick.

ANA fans were begging Bieksa to retire or be traded. He was their best dman in the playoffs by a mile in tough areas

I also recall Orpik being a huge peice in Wash during the playoffs
