Nice. Something for nothing, unless the pick is a #1 and the club dives again.

I was looking at Neal's game logs last year and I noticed something.

He started off the year terribly, probably getting used to the new team, but he finished the season (20 games), with 11 points, a 45 point pace. Hopefully he can perform like that here in Edmonton.

He's also a proven playoff performer.

No way this just happened. I have to temper my feelings right now because if I go full Pejorative Slur and this turns out to be fake I'd feel clownish.

I think Neal has a better chance to rebound than Lucic but who knows.

I don't really understand why Calgary would do this unless the pick was a good one.

Was thinking the same thing. Wonder if this opens the door for Maroon to come back on a cheaper deal. He is better than Lucic in all aspects, so that would be big for us.

I bet Holland was waiting to see if he could get this deal done before signing any free agents. If the retention isn't too steep, I could see us signing Brassard/Maroon/Boyle.

Only issue is Neal is supposed to be a TERRIBLE teamate when things are not good.. Looch appeared to be a good one and a total pro. So who knows

Just put Neal with Mcdavid and let him Malkin him to 40 goals and you can play Drai-Nuge together.

As long as the pick is a 3rd or later and we don’t retain more than equaling out the contracts I’m very happy about this.

Lucic is strictly a 4th line plug at this point. Neal could rebound and still has his hands even if he is slow.
