As I said on the main board: I wanted Fasth even before Anaheim signed him. Super happy, but interested to see what it cost.

As I said in the proposal thread, good shot in the dark.

His recent numbers aren't great, but he started with a bang in the NHL and had great SEL numbers.

One more year at $2.9 million isn't a handicap. Well done Mac T.

Fasth is a sub .900 SV% goalie taking up $2.9M in cap space on a team that has two of the top goalie prospects in the world and Hiller as their #1.

I would hope that we're getting some compensation for allowing the Ducks to shed that contract from their books, and that it's not a situation where we're giving up real assets for a goalie we think is going to play a big role for us.

Agree completely. Almost feel like we should be getting something back for this... I doubt that happens though.

Like the move, as I preferred his mechanics to Dubnyk. Agree though with others that I only like the deal if the cost is low, as it essentially is helping the ducks out.

I'm (perhaps unjustifiably so) terrified at what we gave up for this.

Please nothing good, please nothing good, please nothing good...

I wanted us to go after him as a free agent when Ducks signed him. Great goalie with the ability to take a team on his back and run with it, injuries are a concern though but imo worth the shot unless the price is to high.

I believe Anaheim got two mid-round picks for Fasth from Edmonton... but waiting to confirm that

Ducks will get two mid-round picks from Edmonton in Fasth deal. Not sure on specifics.

as per Lebrun two mid round picks. If its the 4th and another 5th that's not bad value.
