TONIGHT’S GAME - The Bruins visit the Islanders tonight in game 3 of their best-of-7 Round Two series with the teams even at 1 game apiece. - Boston is in the post-season for the 5th straight season and 74th all-time in their history ... Their 74 post-season berths are 2nd all-time in NHL history to MTL’s 85. - This is the 5th Round Two series for Boston since the NHL adopted the format in 2013-14 and they are 1-3 in those series ... Overall, they are playing their 34th 2nd round series (quarterfinals, division finals, conference semifinals and round two series) with an 18-15 record entering this post-season ... They are 16-13 in those series which have been best-of-7 formats. - The Bruins have a 26-18 record all-time in best-of-7 series when the series is even after game 2 and are 23-22 in game 3s of series in which the teams were tied at 1-1 after game 2.

MILESTONES APPROACHING - Five Bruins - Anton Blidh, Trent Frederic, Oskar Steen, Jeremy Swayman and Urho Vaakanainen - are looking to play their first NHL playoff games ... Swayman dressed as backup for the 5 games of Round One vs. WSH. - Bruce Cassidy’s next win will move him past Art Ross (32) into sole possession of 2nd place on the team’s all-time coaching playoff wins list ... Claude Julien is 1st with 57 post-season victories.

INJURIES - Craig Smith - lower body - Kevan Miller - undisclosed - Ondrej Kase - upper body - Jakub Zboril - upper body - John Moore - hip surgery

BOSTON vs NY ISLANDERS, LIFETIME SERIES - The Bruins and Islanders have played 2 lifetime playoff series with NYI winning both ... They have played 13 games with NYI holding both a 9-4 advantage and 55-43 goals for/against edge. - Their previous series was the 1983 Prince of Wales Conference Championship series which NYI won 4-2. - Their 1st series was the 1980 Quarterfinal series, won by NYI, 4-1. - FYI: NYI’s Mike Bossy was the 1st player in NHL history to have scored all 4 of his team’s game-winning goals in one playoff series, doing so in the 1983 Conference Championship series ... The Islanders won the Stanley Cup in each of the years they faced the Bruins in the post-season ... These teams combined for 248 PIM (124 each) in the 1st period of gm 2 of their 1980 SF series on 4/17/1980, which remains an NHL record for PIMs by both teams in 1 playoff period.

I don't give a **** about how loud Uniondale is. If you can't win on the road in the playoffs in a difficult environment, you don't deserve the Cup anyway.

If both teams play to their ability, the Bruins win. Now go out and do it!

EDIT: Yikes, on the grammatical mistake.

GIVE THEM NOTHING, BOYS! No excuses. You better come out buzzin. Every single period. No taking a break. Hit with purpose. Drive your ass to the net. No lackadaisical passes. No soft passes. No fancy passes. Pass with PURPOSE. Hit to HURT, but play smart. Go after them like a rabid dog on a bone. Come out and make a statement. Instead of weathering the storm, BE the storm. Believe!

Here we go Bruins, here we go!

One thing I was pretty confident in was being the better team in Special Teams. Haven’t looked that way so far. I think they worked on it on the 2 days off and we’ll see a much better showing these two games. Especially on the PK

Trying to decide if I do or don't post the fishy Mcbites video. Gonna let this one breath a little.

Come to think of it, I've posted it every time Smith has played a full game, and they won. Ok if Smith plays, I'm posting it!

I neglected to eat anything today due to a busy day at work. Thinking I might need some Advil and a nap before this game.
