Bennett did stick a little jab out there, and Marchand ran right into it. Marchand came in hot to try and light Bennett up (on a borderline late hit) and that supplied all of the real power to it.
If Marchand was on time, Bennett wouldn’t have had time to get his hands up after moving the puck. It all went horribly wrong for him.

He was already a PPG superstar at the time of the hit, at least that's what we were told by the faithful at the time.

One of the few reasons the series was stolen from them.

Oh I'm sure there's that and plenty of other excuses, but it just is what it is. Bennett can handle himself just fine as can a few others, just a question of if they're willing. This Boston roster isn't exactly murderers row.

The Bruins have been outscored 12-3 in the last two games and their two highest paid players have done little to nothing. They would be wise to be laser focused on how to get the puck in the back of the net. Actually they would be wise to figure out how to get SOG.

Boston did much better against FLA last playoffs without Bergeron and Krejci. Toronto did better this playoffs against Boston in the games without Matthews. Who knows the impact of Marchand being out.

Why do you think that is? They just focused on revenge, or the Panthers are that good defensively? Look at Kucherov’s numbers. Barkov and Forsling were all over them.

Not pointing you out specifically, but I keep hearing things like this and people haven’t thought to look at their opposition.
