A group of young greenhorns, tired of the status quo , have decided to take matters into their own hands. To make the playoff world a better place, they have banded together and use their special skills to steal their opponent’s desires, as well as hockey games. They are….
The Phantom Leafs!
Auston Matthews! After scoring his first career playoff goal in game 3 (along with an assist on the tying goal), Matthews will be looked at to continue his offensive play, while maintaining his defensive play in the series so far. If the Phantom Leafs are going to successfully escape with their target’s treasure, expect Matthews to play a major role. A future leader of the Phantom Leafs, his versatility allows him to fill all roles..
Mitch Marner! After scoring the first Leafs goal of the playoffs, Marner contributed just as importantly in game 3, checking the stick of Capitals’ Matt Niskanen. His name may not be on the score sheet, but a Phantom Leafs leaves no trace of their attack behind. Using a Agility and Magic build, Marner’s flashy style is the perfect fit for the Phantom Leafs.
William Nylander! Nylander also scored his first playoff goal in game 3, tying the game at 3. Furthermore, his possession % at 5-on-5 was 82%, leading all players. Nylander is the (not so) secret weapon of the Phantom Leafs. His weapon, ‘Hockey Stick’, his equally accurate and deadly.
Frederik Andersen! The sturdy backbone of the Phantom Leafs, he has leveled up in the playoffs with a .925 Sv% thru three games. He has made good use of his Endurance stat this season, appearing in a career high 66 regular season starts. Keeping the Leafs in each game of the series with timely saves, Andersen has proven a crucial addition to the Phantom Leafs roster.
