My boss sent this to me. This man was all of us. We need an update from game 5.

My only question is who's missing the game to film him all this time?

Why would people from NJ be Rangers fans? I'm European so I actually don't know much about New Jersey, but I studied in Boston and I couldn't imagine someone from there rooting for another team than the Bruins.
The excuse is usually because their parents are (ridiculous imo). Which is why I threw in the qualifier of being ~47. I can't really blame a guy who cheered for the rags his whole life before the Devils existed.

Other than that? Bandwagon jumpers? Self loathing traitors? Fairweather ignoramus'? Take your pick.

The Bruins also don't have another team 11 miles from td garden. Although I do believe at least one - possibly more - posters on this board are from Boston.

The north/eastern part of NJ a stones throw to manhattan. Lot of nyc'ites moved out to NJ at some point.

Also, before NJD 1982, NYR was closest team to root for if you were in NJ. Unless in south jersey, which is mainly philly territory.

I met a friend of a season ticket friend who is about 55ish who is Rangers fan originally (pre NJD days of existence) but sort of converted to NJD fan because of location/children are NJ fan, and basically no logical reason to root for NYR anymore.

Hes a NJD fan unless NJD playing Rangers. Weird i know.

I agree with Greg. That shit should be saved until a series is being won. Does it directly impact the play on the ice? Probably not.

But at the very least it’s whiteboard material for the other team and you look like absolute clowns in the event you blow the series.
oh spare me with that voodoo crap.

Our team is GOOD.

Be confident that our TEAM can get it DONE this Saturday.

BE CONFIDENT, GODDAMN IT.

Jesus f***ing Christ. This is a fan base that’s been waiting a decade for playoff success. Let them have fun and do what they f***ing want. This is a team that was down 2-0 and was written off by many including a good portion of their own fans. They’ve won 3 in a row and just obliterated their bitter rivals on home ice. I get being nervous about things but let’s try to enjoy this ride. We’ve waited long enough for it. Have fun.

Oh yeah. We’re winning game 6.

Watching the post-game show.

I am back to absolutely loving Scott Gomez. I think I just let out the last tiny drop of contempt left in my body via my tear duct and watched it float off into space.

Listening to Chico and him bust each other's chops on the post game radio show is great fun.

Gomez is someone ESPN should have picked up instead of Messier and Chelios and some of the other boring suits they have.

I am definitely still uneasy especially based on what the Rangers did last year in the Pitt/Car series, like you said. We could lose in 7 and would not be surprised. But last year, going into that important game 6, the Rangers were coming off a win in the Penguins series and won 2 out of the last 3 against Carolina. The good thing here is that they've lost 3 straight and got throttled last night.
Dude....Rags won last year because the Pens had LOUIS DOMINGUE in net.

LOUIS DOMINGUE!!!!

Had they had any DECENT goaltender between the Pipes, Rags would've been eliminated easily

Raanta doesn't get enough heat from anyone other than me for his DISGUSTING showing in game 6 at MSG.

He let in two VERY SOFT goals before the game was even 10 minutes old in game 6.

And then he let in weak one very early in game 7, though not quite as bad as the two bullshit, cheap goals he allowed in the opening 10 minutes of game 6.

That's what he said. I think it's because he already ripped them in the post game presser after Game 4 so he knew he couldn't go back to that well.
Yea you can’t go back to that well again. I thought it was odd to play that card in the first place after game 4 which was a one goal game (plus empty netter), in which they even tied it up in the third before losing. From an outsiders perspective that would be a time to preach calm.

But, the spicey pork!
I wish those pigs would have lived. They likely could have done a better job at stopping some of those embarrassing goals he let in.

f*** that guy so much. Total LOSER and scrub.

Enjoy the rest of your career in the AHL, eating pizza hut and subway on the road trips, you f***ing shit bag LOSER.

I don't get the point here, are fans not supposed to taunt the other team at all? Nobody would have any good luck ever if fans were all punished for being derogatory or mocking. Plus how do we know MSG wasn't doing similar crap in Games 3 and 4 anyway?

Would I have wanted any 'we want the Cup!' chants last night? No, that would have been jumping the shark when we haven't even gotten out of a round yet. Did I like the Rangers Suck chants when we were getting our hats handed to us the first two games no, there's a time and place for everything and that was the last time possible for it. That said, mythical karma ain't a reason to cite in not doing a chant or taunting someone. And complaining about it here when the majority of the board probably wasn't even at the arena (and not all of us who were participated in said chants - though I gladly did the GOODBYE one) is just throwing water into the wind.

I admittedly did worry a little bit about firing up Igor with the Igor chants, but then again dude should be fired up to play an elimination game regardless, if he needs the fans' mocking to motivate him then good luck tomorrow when he'll be in the middle of a lovefest.

They were showing the Rangers fans leaving the game early on the scoreboard and everyone was waving goodbye to them, it's just some good old fashioned fun. I know it's been 11 years since we've experienced actual fun in the playoffs but that's all it was.
Rags fans were giving that shit to me after game two. It's all good I'm over it now.

Oh should try meditating.
That would have helped him stop those pucks, no doubt.

Guy is just not for the NHL. He demonstrated it so much when he was here 4 years ago. He may have actually been worse than Jon Gillies was last year when he played here. I think he actually was.

And his 21 win season in Tampa was a complete joke. I can't think of a goalie as bad as him that's won over 20 games in a season in recent years. Even the FLUKEY ones that did (Hammond) actually played well in the years they did. He had some seriously pedestrian numbers.

Your hate for some goalies is funny, but I don’t know if it’s good for you!

Bahl is really making the loss of Muk much easier to absorb. I was skeptical Bahl would have a long term future here just due to someone like Muk and getting lost in the huge pile of depth we have in D prospects, but using Muk in the Timo trade gave him that opening.

At the very least I think he'll be a pretty good #6/bottom pairing guy.
