I didn't think they should have ever pulle him out. He's playing as you said, very poised. He's absorbing hits and making beautiful outlet passes and skating it out. VERY impressive.

You nailed it, he will make mistakes but he brings something needed and seems to be playing like a multi year vet on D right now.
