Score early to get the 3rd string goalie thinking about things. Shoot an errant slapper at Brind'Amour to get him extra salty. Tell Pasta and Marchy the playoffs have started. Result will be a win.

This has disaster in the making. Wags hasn’t played a meaningful game in over a year. Mark McLaughlin should have been the guy just to get him experience and he has popped a few goals where Wags again has done nothing. Blidh should be in as w. That just screams Cassidy scared and using a binky.

No practice yesterday which would be fine if you weren’t switching goalies. Kind of want to give him a hard competitive practice to get ready for what he’ll face. Instead he’ll go in cold.

And watch me bail from a check Reilly is in.

Hoping for the best, but cards against are stack multiplying before our eyes.

Brind’amour crying to the press about big bad bruins hunting his goalies (lol), meanwhile Bruce is all silent about Lindholm. Coach is getting out coached. Just like the st.Louis series.
Even worse, he could have reversed it onto Rod by saying, he’s just playing games to get calls. He doesn’t believe that. Instead he defended Pasta which is exactly what Rod was looking for as the “victim”

Regarding the lines...

The Good
  • In the small amount of time (10:31) that Taylor Hall, Erik Haula and Jake DeBrusk played together at Even Strength this season, the line produced an Expected Goals For % of 90.26.
  • In almost 400 mins of ES time in the regular season, the Mike Reilly/Charlie McAvoy pairing had a 58.62 GF%.

The Bad
  • So far in this series, Hall-Haula-DeBrusk have played 4:31 together at ES and have an xGF% of just 23.22.
  • The Bruins are playing the Hurricanes.

Yea, I’ve had serious concerns with Cassidy since the blues series. I think he’s a good coach, not a great one. For all his flaws, Claude julien *never* let the bruins lose a series in less than 7 games.

Cassidy is missing that extra edge that could make him a great coach, he’s mentally not tough enough to out fox when the going gets tough.

It is the same people who would be all over Cassidy if he cried as much as Brind'amour
My issue is that he doesn't have much fire. He's just kind of like "whatever" and even comes across that way in media scrums. It's like he's more sarcastic instead of to the point.

I just want to see him explode. Even the other night during the penalty parade he was kind of just "meh"

Well when you look at the LD does it really matter who is playing forward . It was the deepest hole on the team before #27 was injured. For the the Bruins to ever be a playoff team, that contends you need drastic changes on LD

He only gets emotional ripping his own players

Like backes says, he coaches like a finesse defenseman

He's never shown that side in the media since he got to town and he's not going to start now.

Bottom line, if he started crying and complaining it would just give the refs more of an excuse to call shit on the team especially Marchand.

Focusing in on Bruce's emotions is plain stupid.

I don't think it is, really. He's been completely outcoached before and rarely ever does anything to try to tip momentum or sway anything the Bruins way.

There's a huge difference between "crying" about calls and going off. The guy needs to flat out go off, and the other night was a prime example of a time he needed to do that.

I feel like coaching is very low on the list of concerns for the Bruins
Maybe. But it shows how Carolina & it’s coach are outmaneuvering the bruins. They are the hammer, they are the victim, they are just more savvy. Bruins are playing nice, being chivalrous, always reacting & getting penalties. They gotta get in there, muck it up, get greasy. DESPERATE!
