I’ll handshake and say if they call diving properly, they should also calls penalties appropriately even when guys stay on their feet, and then everyone can stop whining. Deal?
They don’t even get goaltender interference right so diving we have no shot but we can hope.

Cool with me as long as they can call the obvious hooks and inference (referencing aho)
That would mean they’d have to call embellishment as well. The last Islanders-Rangers game we had rangers fans crying about varlamov tripping Vesey (I think) infront of the net but ignored the fact that Vesey kept gliding back into his crease.

I agree about goalie interference it's ridiculous the crap they let people get away with.

This is all solvable if they simply called the egregious penalties instead of "policing" the game and trying to keep a somewhat even penalty count....

And I'm fully aware this would probably get my Canes 5-7 PKs a game but I'll take that to get 3-4 PPs because the no calls I've seen that haven't gone are way tend to negate grade A chances.

They always police the game then turn a blind eye if it doesn’t blatantly take away a scoring chance. You’ll see guys who get full puck chasing down a breakaway and then afterwards clip the guy and get called for a trip (borderline call at best) but you won’t see them call an elbow to the head. Chris Lee is notorious for this nonsense.

This is also true for the most part I've noticed a lot of missed calls for us this year that did negate scoring opportunities.... and at least 5x a goal agaist us should have been goalie interference.

I wish there was an option on sportsbooks for the Canes kill outscoring the Isles PP because I'm 99% sure it will happen again this series.

The league needs some consistency with these calls. Too much subjectiveness between situations that they can’t figure out what to do. Just wait until a goalie gives up a goal because he loses a skate blade and can’t push off. That happened to Sorokin.

The Isles special teams is a mess so that’s highly possible unless Holmstrom and Pageau can get hot on the PK again. As for the power play, they try to force too much through passing instead of just becoming a shooting gallery and hope something gets through. Even the zone entry is the same thing, Barzal gets a drop pass and skates up one side to leave it to the player on the blueline. He should just draw someone with him down deep and then make the pass. He’s not opening up the lane that way.

This ain't last year the Canes have more than one legitimate high end player and you don't have the benefit of Antti Raanta in net either.

Frenchie loves to penalize the Canes you will probably get 5+ PPs but I'm sure will complain about the 2 we get
We got Francis?

Damn. At least it's not Lecroix.

I am prepared to write ten 5-paragraph posts about why this take reflects an ignorance of the sport and a lack of experience playing hockey.
Enlighten us

Refjesus punishes those who mock him and smiles upon the blessed Canes who go forth with clean, honest hearts to contest with their foul, dank, fish-smelly souls.
Rod is going to turn maroon if he doesn’t get blessed by the refs. It’ll be beyond his normal shade of anger red.

Ugh, in what world is St. Laurent qualified to ref playoff games?
I wish I knew. Like I stated above, Chris Lee was listed as qualified so anything is possible in this league.

I want a 70s/80s coach fight, Rod vs Roy.
