We are favorites at least. Biggest ones other than Vegas. Isles favorite to sweep too haha.

Im just getting tired of watching this kind of hockey. Game 3 of our series, the Islanders. Columbus. I get the two teams just mentioned can have great forechecks but it’s often like watching paint dry.

Game 4 possibilities in any series:

1) sweep
2) take a commanding 3-1 lead
3) concede a tied series at 2 games apiece

One of those looks great. One of those looks impossible.

For as much as I have been bitching, the young Flyers (NAK, Sanhiem, Provorov, Myers) are impressing outside of the game 2 anamoly. That's promising. Hart is on another level. Also promising.

Carry the puck into the zone. Embrace the innate creativity in this lineup. Keep the puck away from Price. Keep swallowing these guys up on entry. Move your feet on the pp.

Therefore, Thompson should see 11 mins of 5v5 action

I know everyone thinks your a boob if you scream "Shoot the puck"! But it seems the obvious solution to our PP. Our obsession with passing is causing dangerous turnovers and you can't score if you don't shoot. Crowd the net and fire away, Price doesn't give up much and crazy bounces can't be controlled. Trying to set up pretty plays isn't working.

They need to find ways to avoid letting Price’s puck handling impact the game, and just drive more pucks at the net. It seems like they’re always looking for a play. Just get that thing on net and crowd in.

I'm at the point where I'm ready to bench Niskanen for Hagg.

I'd prefer other dmen ahead of Hagg. But its bad enough that Hagg would be better too.

The issue with the powerplay on the surface is actually the shots. Low danger non-one timers from Provorov from the point or mid board snappers from TK with minimal traffic in front will result in minimal goals. But why? What causes this?

Stationary players away from the puck. With no one hungry for open ice or opening up lanes away from the puck, the puck holder (Giroux or TK) is left with 2 options: shoot or dish it to the point.

Giroux won't shoot because he's better than that. I'd wager he mostly dishes to Provorov in an effort to get the ice moving, both opponents and teammates, so when the puck is returned to him, something opens up. But it rarely does, because his teammates love to watch.

TK doesn't have that type of hockey IQ, so he settles on ripping a shot.

Similarly, Provorov will also shoot in the same manner rather than play catch with G.

Is it coaching? Well... with similar personnel, this pp was lethal. Alas

There’s nothing fun about this series. It’s been some of the least entertaining and most frustrating hockey I’ve ever watched.

The worst part is that it doesn’t have to be this way.

Do you think this frustrating hockey is a result of how the Habs play or our guys just not playing up to snuff?

Comfort yourself with visions of run-and-gun against Colorado or Vegas.

There never was much hope ... just a fool's hope.
