"We're going to fix it up," (Chicago real estate investor David Hoffman) said. "We're going to really, really start with the exterior. We're going to move up to the suites and really make them nice. We're going to redo the entire indoors. ... The scoreboard is old. It's just not the kind of instant replay that you're used to. " ...
Well, he's nothing if not enthusiastic.

I've attended a lot of games at Germain/TECO/Hertz arena over the past several years and attendance has definitely been on a downward trend, so I hope the new ownership can bring some fresh ideas about marketing the team.

The arena is a decent enough minor league arena. The only thing that is substandard about it is the scoreboard which the new owner already said he's going to replace. The food choices and concession stands could be improved upon, but this isn't critical to the longer term success of the Everblades and arena.

Brush has wanted to unload the team and arena for a long time. The new owner appears to be very well-heeled financially so that should bode well for the 'Blades.
