That is where we have the huge disadvantage. We were up double digits when we had to bring on bench players both halves.

Our best reserves are Wannamaker and Williams.

We get crap like Semi and Grant while Miami has Igoudala glued to the bench as their backup.
While the bench is terrible for a team in the conference finals it wasn't their fault yesterday. Kemba not being able to hit shots until the end, Brown being completely phased out of the offense and Tatum becoming a bricklayer at the end of the 4q and ot are why they lost that game. Both teams played one great quarter on both ends then played a bad one, what won miami the game is the Heat's star took over the game like a true star does while Tatum is taking 30ft step back threes when they have the last shot of a tie game with 22 seconds on the clock to make a play and choking in the clutch again.

Hell baby
They know they got stagnant at the end, I expect them to fix it next game. They’re a good team

RULE NO. 11: Basket Interference – Goaltending

Section I—A Player Shall Not:
  1. Touch the ball or the basket ring when the ball is sitting or rolling on the ring and using the basket ring as its lower base or hang on the rim while the ball is passing through.
    1. EXCEPTION: If a player near his own basket has his hand legally in contact with the ball, it is not a violation if his contact with the ball continues after the ball enters the cylinder, or if, in such action, he touches the basket.
  2. Touch any ball from within the playing area when it is above the basket ring and within the imaginary cylinder.
  3. During a field goal attempt, touch a ball, which has a chance to score, after it has touched any part of the backboard above ring level, whether the ball is considered on its upward or downward flight.
  4. During a field goal attempt, touch a ball, which has a chance to score, after it has touched the backboard below the ring level and while the ball is on its upward flight.
  5. Trap the ball against the face of the backboard after it has been (To be a trapped ball, three elements must exist simultaneously. The hand, the ball and the backboard must all occur at the same time. A batted ball against the backboard is not a trapped ball.)
  6. Touch any ball from within the playing area that is on its downward flight with an opportunity to score. This is considered to be a “field goal attempt” or trying for a goal.
  7. Touch the ball at any time with a hand which is through the basket ring.
  8. Vibrate the rim, net or backboard so as to cause the ball to make an unnatural bounce, or bend or move the rim to an off-center position when the ball is touching the ring or passing through.
  9. Touch the rim, net or ball while the ball is in the net, preventing it from clearing the basket.
    1. PENALTY: If the violation is at the opponent’s basket, the offended team is awarded two points, if the attempt is from the two point zone and three points if it is from the three-point zone. The crediting of the score and subsequent procedure is the same as if the awarded score has resulted from the ball having gone through the basket, except that the official shall hand the ball to a player of the team entitled to the throw-in. If the violation is at a team’s own basket, no points can be scored and the ball is awarded to the offended team at the free throw line extended on either sideline. If there is a violation by both teams, no points can be scored, play shall be resumed by a jump ball between any two opponents in the game at the center circle.

Even if you can say its goaltending, this would not be up for debate if Tatum didn't front rim the possible game winning three at the end of regulation. Had Stevens set up for a better shot then allowing Tatum to do iso bullshit as if he's Kobe in his prime, the Celtics would be up 1-0 right now. On top of that, if Walker had a better shooting night this wouldn't even be talked about because the Celtics would have blown the doors off the Heat. Walker's jump shot has looked like hot garbage the past three games and I firmly believe his knee is f***ed right now and has been since midway through the Raptors series. They better hope Hayward is good to go for game two and can provide instant offense for the team. The Celtics desperately need it at this point as depending on Marcus Smart and whoever's not being covered heavily to put up the bulk of points isn't going to cut it.

For me the problem isn't one bad play at the end of regulation and OT, it's that they were up like 12-3 to start the game, they had another 10+ point lead in the second half, and they let Miami get these surges and come back over and over instead of putting them to sleep

Well that's why I focus on Kemba Walker's bad shooting, as well as the mixed results from Jaylen Brown AND Jayson Tatum on top of that. Too many times the Celtics went up the floor and took poor shots. I understand that basketball analytics value three pointers as the most valuable shot in the game, but anyone with eyes can tell you that just going bombs away all the time from beyond the arc (unless you have the midas touch like Marcus Smart) is f***ing stupid. Kemba and Jaylen should take more mid range shots or, and here's a novel thought, drive to the god damn cup and draw fouls to get some free throws. Like f***ing hell, that's was Pierce's bread and butter and he averaged 20+ points a night doing that.
