What need to do is play the correct 6 defenseman for a while first. Sitting scuderi alone makes our defense better. Matta appears to be getting on track now. Let clendenning play through his mistakes.

You constantly make random proposals with no idea on value and then argue with posters who clearly do.

Instead of throwing out thread after thread on the Trade board, have you considered getting a 2nd opinion before doing so? There's a salary cap thread in the section here specifically for the Penguins

Yeah, lets get more soft.
Lets add a natural left wall PP threath where we only have Kessel and move our net front natural to insure Kunitz' permanence.

It sounds splendid, and who cares if our needs are actually on D (and management).

There is nothing wrong with our forward group outside of Kunitz still not retired. It's a coaching issue there, you can add Eberle and then the team continues to score at the pace they have been, then what? You move someone else? Then someone else?

There is one thing for certain on the roster that is a glaring issue.

The team needs another big minute eater for the top 4, dump Scuderi, and fire Johnson. 1 and 2 don't need to be in that order, #3 needed to happen months ago.

What about boedker? He was another option.

He'd look awesome on Sid or Geno's LW but he's a UFA next year. Assuming Arizona is out of the playoff picture, they have no incentive to move him now vs. March (when they're likely to get a whole lot more for him), so our only option is to overpay now to secure the 3 extra months of negotiations. Unfortunately the sign-and-trade doesn't exist in the NHL like it does in the NBA, so JR would have to be damn sure he's going to be able to get a deal done. On top of all that, who do we have that would interest them? They're stacked with young forward prospects, and of the 7 defensemen they have rostered at the moment, 5 are 25 or younger. Just not a great trade partner unfortunately, we'd be better off taking a run at him in free agency if he makes it that far.

Looks like both sides are against it, so I'm shutting this thread down.

Trade Proposals can go to the Trade and Rumors board.
