I am a rec goalie who is in need of new skates. Does anyone know of any good goalie skates that are easy to break in? Also kind of interested if anyone has an inside scoop on player skates too.
The highly heat responsive skates like True/VH and Easton Mako (M7, M8, Mako II) are generally much easier to break in if you get the right size. True makes custom goalie skates that several NHL goalies use. Easton Makos are player skates, but I have seen several goalie conversions. The Mako player skates have tendon Guards that you can easily remove (they screw on and off); so they lend themselves to a conversion.
