I've been doing this for like 4 or 5 years now, so let's get this party started.

Rank what will be the best teams in the Eastern Conference. You can choose to pick what team you think will win the East and be in the SCF, OR what team you think will finish 1st overall at the end of the regular season, use whatever criteria you think is most applicable...as this poll goes, just keep going based on who is left.

Here are the current Division setups:

Division C
Boston Bruins
Buffalo Sabres
Detroit Red Wings
Florida Panthers
Montreal Canadiens
Ottawa Senators
Tampa Bay Lightning
Toronto Maple Leafs

Division D
Carolina Hurricanes
Columbus Blue Jackets
New Jersey Devils
New York Islanders
New York Rangers
Philadelphia Flyers
Pittsburgh Penguins
Washington Capitals

Here are the current results of our polls

Went with Ottawa here. One of their biggest problems last season was scoring. They definitely addressed that with Bobby Ryan. Solid D and good goaltending now and in the future.

Caps.

Losing Alfredsson's leadership is going to be a large blow to Ottawa.

Healthy Ottowa has better overall built than any of the rest of the field. The next group is going to be much harder to rank: Leafs, Habs, Isles, Caps and Flyers. Probably in this order.

Edit: And only 3 out of 5 in the next group is in the play-offs

Ottawa overachieved last season. They were a big surprise. They also looked worse healthy than they did hurt, which is the mark of a team overachieving through overcoming adversity. Color me skeptical.

I think it's Ottawa. They're gonna be a really solid team this year especially with Ryan in the fold. Him, Spezza and Karlsson are a solid big three

However, the top four teams so far are going to be the four best teams. The next four are all a step below the Rangers, Bruins, Pens and Wings IMO
