I've been doing this for like 4 or 5 years now, so let's get this party started.

Rank what will be the best teams in the Eastern Conference. You can choose to pick what team you think will win the East and be in the SCF, OR what team you think will finish 1st overall at the end of the regular season, use whatever criteria you think is most applicable...as this poll goes, just keep going based on who is left.

Here are the current Division setups:

Division C
Boston Bruins
Buffalo Sabres
Detroit Red Wings
Florida Panthers
Montreal Canadiens
Ottawa Senators
Tampa Bay Lightning
Toronto Maple Leafs

Division D
Carolina Hurricanes
Columbus Blue Jackets
New Jersey Devils
New York Islanders
New York Rangers
Philadelphia Flyers
Pittsburgh Penguins
Washington Capitals

Picked Detroit. No more horrific travel. Additions to their lineup will help. Young players improving. I can see them making noise and possibly being better than Boston.

A full season of Spezza and Ryan plus the other youngsters they have in addition to Craig Anderson?

I like them for the #2 spot.

Pittsburgh. Then Detroit, I think they'll do a lot of damage in the East. Thinking about taking Ottawa ahead of the Rangers as well. Good defense with on e true standout guy in Karlsson, good to great goaltending, solid depth offensively lead by Spezza, a guy who's a better forward than anyone the Rangers have in that department. IMO, goal is the only position we're better than them.

Detroit is old, and they lost guys.

Old? They have a young roster. Nyquist, Tatar, Helm, Abdelkader, Smith, Kindl, Etc. Added Weiss and Alfie. Howard is getting better. Sure Zetterberg, Datsyuk, amd Alfie are on the later end of their career, but that team is going to be good.
