With the 160th pick in the draft, the Flyers are proud to select D Simon Lacroix of the Shawinigan Cataractes.

Assets:
Good size (6'2", 180 lbs.) and will fill out
Puts up points from the blueline (38 pts. in 60 games in the Q this year)
Named to the Q's All-Rookie team

Flaws:
Needs seasoning in the defensive zone
Years away from contribution (still 17, DOB is May 29th, 1989)

That is just conjecture, as I have never seen him play. :)

I was thinking about taking Gawlik, but decided it was too much of a gamble (size and injury history). Maybe with my last pick. Good pick for you.

With the 162nd pick of the 2007 NHL entery draft, the New York Islanders are pleased to selected, from the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL, Nicola Riopel.

Assets:
Played a few games for Islanders coach Ted Nolan during 2005-06 season with Moncton.
Good glove and athletic.

Weaknesses:
Size. A little undersized at 5'11" and 160 lbs. Leaves lots of open holes to shoot at when he goes down.
Consistancy.
Playoff performance was subpar, to say the least.

With the 163rd pick of the 2007 NHL entery draft, the Montréal Canadiens are pleased to selected, from the Hermantown High school, Drew Leblanc
:habs
p1099992.jpg

Assets:
Hermantown's Drew Leblanc was the star of the first day. He's got pretty good size, and was an all-conference football player, so he's strong and tough. He uses his size to his advantage as well. He's got very soft hands in front of the net. He should be a very good college player, wherever he ends up.

Weaknesses:
A little undersized, needs to play with a better competition

Carolina selects Milan Kytnar from Topolcany of the SVK Div1.
:canes

Strengths:
At only 17 years old he has made a mens tier II team in Slovakia and succeeded in getting .5ppg. Also plays aggressively and wound up raking up 53PIM in only 22 games. Had a coming out party with 7pts in 6 games in the U-18 WJC.

Weaknesses:
A relative unknown, Kytnar may have just played above his head at the U-18's. Sometimes takes to many stupid penalties.

NYR are on the clock and have been pm'd.
