Biggest factor in the Impasse process is that Replacement players can not cross Country borders so the US teams can only us USA born replacement players in a IMPASSE with replacement players .. That would take 500 USA players for the US teams ..

Actually that is not completely true. You only need a work visa if you are a resident alien. If you have a Green card you can work without a work visa and you don't need to be U.S. born to get this here in the U.S. Given that a lot of players have "exceptional talent" there may be a lot more players that have this status than we think.

A lot of the players are also now married to American women, with american born children.
