That’s an interesting hybrid skate jersey. And what was the purpose to that Babe patch? I assume it was about someone from Canucks history that had died or was sick, and not that the team was labelling each player as a babe.

Babe Pratt was a pretty popular figure with the team at the time, IIRC. Of course, when someone dies suddenly it's not unexpected that those around him would want to memorialize him.

There’s a couple of subtle changes between the old Columbus 3rd and their new sweater. It went from an all red collar to red and white, they took out the black for the arms and shoulders and the bottom, and took out the three stars.

But man, the black and blue are very subtle in difference. I can’t imagine how hard that’d have been to tell on TV

I think people know Duchene played for the Jackets. It is where he had his best playoff performance. He was a big part of the team than swept the Lightning, having 3 goals and 4 assists in those 4 games.

That was the day they debuted the third jerseys. This article lists the other games the Bruins were scheduled to wear Pooh Bears. Neely did not play February 3rd vs. Buffalo or February 10th vs. Philly, then played one more game in Anaheim on February 27th and was ruled out the rest of the season.

It turns out, the Pooh Bear debut game was Cam Neely's final home game in Boston. The remaining 5 games of his career were on the road.

More info than I was willing to do. I just Googled “Cam Neely Pooh bear” and got nothing other than jersey pics (nothing of him in it, just of a Neely that jersey). The fact that he wore that rebrand AND helmet boggles the mind. I associate him with the Methbear jersey, and not anything else.

Although now I *really* want to see him in the Pooh Bear. It will be even more odd than Bourque in one.

Although Thomas did play with the Lightning during the 1999-2000 preseason (that Ricky Martin concert was 10/22/99: Ricky Martin Setlist at Ice Palace, Tampa), I don't believe that is him.

According to this roster, that goalie is Trevor Koenig.

Edit: I think this is the same season where Andy Bezeau was traded for a washing machine.

Edit 2: The trade that involved Bezeau being traded for two used equipment dryers was voided and he was eventually traded to the Vipers... in 1997.

I’ve only seen a pic of a Thomas Oilers jersey. That’s the closest thing I’ve been able to find.
