With the 12th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the Colorado Avalanche proudly select from the Moose Jaw Warriors, Defenseman, Morgan Rielly.

GP: 18, G: 3, A: 15, P: 18, PIM: 2

We are very happy to draft a player like Morgan. He a terrific start to his season, but an early injury kept him out and helped him drop in the standings. It was unfortunate for him to sustain his injury, but we likely would not have the pleasure of being able to draft him without his injury. We feel his offensive abilities will help our defense tremendously and stimulate an offensive mindset in the back end. He will be a wonderful edition to the team and we hope to see him sporting our colors in the fall.

No. Every manager starts with their default 3 round picks. Whatever trades go down after that are acceptable and affect the draft order.
