I would be surprised.
This never really works out. Doubt Ottawa is the team to pull it off.
Is this going to be the new way players ask for trades? "Oh yeah go ahead and trade me, I will come back in the off season! Trust me..."
Speak for yourself, Chris.
I’d be shocked.
I like CJ but I don't think that this has a lot of merit.
Seems like the last thing you would want to be getting out weeks before the trade deadline if you are looking to get top value for a player...
I guess maybe the idea could have crossed his mind .... Till another team offers a crap load more money on July 1st
"If you stay, you get the chance to play with Erik Karls....DAMN.
Um, Mark Stone.......DAMN IT.
I think having a child has really changed duchene. Maybe this does make sense in that he could get the best of both worlds. Chase the cup this year with a contender then come back home.
I'd have to think having success and seeing what is out there would change his mind. Also if he gets to UFA Ottawa will be out bid
Y ah okay
Do they have Uber in Ottawa?
Everything makes sense now. All along, Melnyk and Dorion's plan was to trade Karlsson, Duchene and Stone and have them all re-sign with Ottawa this summer!
CJ is usually a reputable person.
But I don’t know about this one
Until he gets a taste of winning hockey.
I think Bob McKenzie on his podcast referenced how Duchene enjoys being 'the centre' on a team which is why he enjoys Ottawa. He will be their franchise centre going forward.
If it were to shake out for Ottawa that way, it would be a great for that franchise.
He doesn't have to ask for a trade, all he has to do is not sign.
Hahahahahaha yeah right, I'd cry.
Didn't they already report the Sens wouldn't come off $8m a year and that wasn't enough.
This has patrick maroon written all over it. Dont believe anyone lol.
only time I remember this happening was when the Blues did it with Tkachuk
I guess he doesn't put much value on winning, if CJ is correct
Would he lose the 8th year if dealt? Or could he still sign for 8 years in the summer?
Carolina and glen wesley.
Daniel Winnik did this with the Leafs. They managed to trade him for a 2nd two seasons in a row.
Yeah if I were a Sens fan, i would keep my expetations extremely low about this. He’s good as gone if he isn’t signed in the next few weeks
