His salary was 690K. Considering he played almost all year in the minors I can't imagine he earned so much as a dime of his bonuses so this is definitely a raise and not a paycut.

Technically yes. But the argument would go something like this...Before I ever played a minute of pro hockey you were OK with paying me $870K. Now that I am more proven, I'm worth at least X. X being no less than $870K.

At least that's what I would have tried to argue.

Unsurprising, it would of made zero sense for DSP to hold out into Training Camp given his relatively unremarkable NHL career to date.

Good to see it get done though, looking forward to seeing how he does this season.
