Most of our fans only look at two things: points and mistakes. So even if Sergachev is playing well they won't notice unless he gets on the scoreboard. He does make some rookie mistakes every now and then though which leads to everyone losing their minds and saying he should be sent to the ahl.

If you actually watch him play though you will see that he has taken a huge step forward this year while his minutes and d zone draws have gone up. The points just haven't come yet. He has the potential to be a superstar D which you will always take over a powerplay specialist winger.

There may be 2-3 saying it but that is hardly "A lot" and even then I am pretty sure you are taking it out of context. Tampa only has so many spots on Defence and most of them are filled.

Sergachev has played average to good. The issue is the other guys have played better than good. Hedman, McDonagh Stralman Giradi and Coburn are all pretty much set in stone. That leaves Cernak and Sergachev for the last spot. Since Stralman is currently injured it has given both those guys a shot and so far Cernak has looked better which has led to a few saying when Stralman comes back that Sergachev should be the odd man out. He won't be. It will be Cernak as Serg will have to go through waivers where as Cernak will not.
