Why? Drouin put 20 points in 24 games so far. Sergachev isn't great at defensive zone, 7 points in 24 games. I think this is close between both. They have the talent to be both elite player.

Drouin was held pointless in his first 3 games this season, but since he has 9 goals and 20 pts in 21 games

Serg. Drouin is scoring pretty well this year but scored at a below average rate last year and is beyond bad defensively. Sergachev controls possession well and is just having some bad offensive luck this year.

Whereas Sergachev has been good? I'd rather have my winger be worse defensively than my dman.

Do people just like to say things without checking the facts?

His shot suppression is actually very good, as well as shot generation. He does get soft usage which is obviously a factor, but he's done very well with it. On the season he has 57% possession, and his GA/60 is the 2nd lowest from the Lightning D, behind only McDonagh..

Sergachevs defensive game has been his biggest issue since juniors and I thought he looked really bad in the games I watched this year. I'll definitely watch more games, but just a quick glance at the lightning board and he definitely seems to be struggling.

I'd take Drouin in a vacuum. But given the Canucks dearth of young defencemen, i'd probably take Sergachev in that case, even if i'm still not a big believer in him as anything more than a middle-pairing offensive guy with some PP acumen.

have you not noticed how horrible he is on giveaways this year? Seriously, its almost overshadowed his offense. Theres a reason why Tampa made him expendable, and we can clearly see why.

He's a fine fringe 1st liner PP specialist. He's also horrible on defense and isn't a centre.
