lol Montreal adds.

Highly doubt that. Drouin has 4 more years after this at a cheap 5.5 cap. Duchene is a UFA this summer who already reportedly turned down a 8X8 deal. Even if he took the 8X8 from MTL, MTL is better off keeping Drouin at 5.5 for the next 4 years.

I think cap is the most valuable asset is todays NHL

Duchene is worth a hell of a lot more than Drouin.
I'd rather have a lazy winger @ 5.5 who can chip in 60-70pts a year than a lazy center who's making 9/10 (he refused 8X8 from OTT0 wh's gonna net 70-80pts and is 4 years older.

That 4.5M$ difference makes s able to go after STone or Panarin in the UFA market

Said signed Duchene. I think Montreal would do it.

Rather have Stone than to be honest if we're talking about Ottawa players. Montreal's doesn't need help at center as desperately as they use to and Stone is the clearly better player.

Plus, this hypothetical scenario will never happen. Duchene isn't going to sign in Montreal long term so close to free agency, Ottawa will do all in their power to not trade in-division and Bergevin isn't likely to move Drouin.

Duchene is far from lazy.
