That was unexpected as ESPN was making a run. But I guess they didn't see it worth it to make a commitment not knowing when Brees is retiring. Peyton Manning has always been what ESPN was targetting though.

MNF goes without saying isn't what it once was, and is even less of that from when Tirico was on the call there. I thought Sean McDonough was fine, don't get why they moved off of that, but the issue has been with the color guy.

They're wanting to hit a grand slam like they had with Gruden and the CBS found with Romo coming directly off the field. They first need to just bring back credibility to the brand. Dan Fouts just became available.
