Lemieux had 67 in 39 in 2003if he was to play just Ottawa, it would be 200.
Lemieux had 64 in 39 games in 2001, too.(76 in 43)
Jagr had 71 in 39 after Lemieux`s return in (00/01)

McDavid has 64 points in 39 games.
That’s a 135 point pace in a full schedule. We haven’t seen a number like that in 25 years.

1st and 2nd most of any player vs. one team this season (so far).21 points for Drai. 20 points for McDavid. In eight games haha.
No he played well, good is an adjective used to describe a noun, played is a verb so well would be the better word to describe his play. Yes I'm the grammar policeman. Anyways, does a hat trick with one being an open netter really count? He play good
“There are some great goal scorers around the league, and he’s right at the top two,” McDavid said of his teammate. “Ovechkin and him, I think, are two of the most deadly shooters we have around the league.”
Oilers' McDavid, Draisaitl continue to be too much for Senators to handle
Wonder if all of McD’s league colleagues agree with him? Think he might be (deliberately) omitting his summer practice buddy. Aww so cute Connor. Lol
Or you read too much into it....he mentioned the guy who is being touted as the greatest goal scorer ever and included his friend, teammate and linemate in the same sentence.
Oh. My. God.
McDavid has 68 points, Draisaitl has 61, combined for 129 points.
Either has more points than any two Sharks players combined.
Both combined have more points than the top 5 players on the Sharks combined (129 vs 127).
This isn't fair. Edmonton, can you please send us one?
Or...he ranked the top 2 goal scorers in the league. He didn’t just mention Drai. Ovi...best of all time and then Drai. In CMD’s mind.
These are not accidents. For he last three years at least if you watch the Oilers warm-ups multiple times each game Draisaitl will set up just above the goal line and one time feeds from McDavid. They often do this several times after most of the other players have left the ice. He is incredibly accurate and the angle he is shooting from has become more acute as time passes. But last night was ridiculous.Or it's because it's incredibly difficult to get good velocity and accuracy with a quick release. It takes a lot of talent to do it.
McDavid and Draisaitl are the only 2 players on that list twiceI went ahead and did every team's biggest enemy this year

Yep confirmed indirect shot at Thornton. Connor mad that Auston got his Hart vote. TMZ needs to pick this up, might be some serious drama here now.

As another poster has already stated... you might be overthinking it. There's certainly a case for Draisaitl to be mentioned alongside Ovechkin in the last few years.

Games played the real difference there.
Maybe they would. The point is he's entirely justified to make mention of Ovie and his teammate who is 2nd in actual goals over the last few years. It doesn't need to be snub on Matthews or anyone else as the poster is suggesting. It's not like he's pulling out his calculator in the media scrum.
But what needs to be noted is that of teh top three only one guy is a "pass first" player.Games played the real difference there.

McDavid and Drai are both above PPG against Toronto.Except against the Leafs and the Habs.
Just call McDavid the poor man’s Joe Thornton.“There are some great goal scorers around the league, and he’s right at the top two,” McDavid said of his teammate. “Ovechkin and him, I think, are two of the most deadly shooters we have around the league.”

McDavid or Drai putting up points isn't thread worthy, it's a regular occurrence.
