First draft had Wings chose 5th and Zadina dropped to them. hmmmm...
I just did one, it had Zadina going 2nd.

I had 5th pick (didn't pay attention to if it's doing a lottery or not). Traded down to 8 with NYR. Drafted:
Noah Dobson
Jesperi Kotkaniemi
Dominik Bokk
and then a bunch of other guys I don't know and don't remember

It's a cool, fun tool. But I really have no knowledge at all of players outside the top 15 or so. We have a lot of picks (especially after trading down in my simultaion), it would be nice to package some of those together and move back up.

Without trading:
Boqvist --- Could have had Zadina, but I couldn't pass up the chance for defense.
Kotkaniemi - Really fortunate he fell.
Noel - Ditto
Alexeeyev - the first time I did this, Chrome froze, and I took him at 27. This time I got him in round 2. Win!
McLaughlin - Hell yes!
Curtis Hall -
Jack Drury -
Ivan Morozov -
Amir Miftakhov
Michal Kvasnica
Christian Krygier

Kind of weird, I could trade from 5th to 1st, and all I had to do was give 5, 27, 33. Quite sure no team gives up Dahlin for that little.

I chose:

1) 1st OVR - Dahlin
2) 36th OVR - Calen Addison
3) 67th OVR - Philipp Kurashev
4) 81st OVR - Milos Roman
5) 84th OVR - Jakub Lauko
6) 98th OVR - Joachim Kondelik
7) 159th OVR - Scott Perunovich
8) 160th OVR - Jacob Tortora
9) 191st OVR - Tyler Weiss

This would be awesome.

I haven't gone to the site, but think it's funny people are picking 5th considering technically we have a worse chance of picking 5th than picking 1st... But I'm guessing it is just looking at the standings.

5 - Zadina(weird that he keeps dropping to 5th in all of these)
11 - Bouchard(traded up when he was still on the board here)
33 - Addison
67 - Blake McLaughlin
81 - Xavier Bernard
84 - Jack Drury
98 - Alec Regula
159 - Riley Damiani
191 - Marc Del Gaizo

would be cool to draft both Zadina and Bouchard but not exactly very realistic

Yeah, they just start you there by default.

Seems way too easy to trade up. And has me way too excited.

Win the lottery and draft Dahlin.
Trade 27, 33, 67 for 6th or so pick. Draft Boqvist, Wahlstrom, whoever you target.
Still have an early second round pick.

Start your stanley cup runs next year.

Or, I just did
#5 Boqvist
#8 Dobson
#12 Bouchard
Net pick #98

Ended up with all D, I'm sure I could do that again and be more well rounded. But yeah, getting more top 10 picks seems way too easy

EDIT: Ahh, I just realized that it will let you do trades that aren't exactly fair, but maybe only choose ones that are equal in the point differential to make it more realistic

I mean, what is location, really
Man, you can have some pretty ridiculous drafts in this thing. Mine:

Boqvist
Hayton
Kaut
Samuelsson
Skarek
Fehervary
Drury
Emberson
Ishakov
Random player
Random player

No trades or anything.
I didn't mean to draft Fehervary (I misclicked), but then I realized I was going on name value alone at that point, so I don't know if there's a difference.

I am going to stop now because that is literally my perfect draft.

I mean outside of winning the lottery and taking Dahlin.

Passed on Tkachuk to take Hughes that was actually tough.

This draft tool is pretty good, although I don't think we'll see O'Brien being available late in the second round. Topping will also get taken earlier than 102, Andersson should have been gone in the late second round.

No trades, moderate draft rankings change to picks, Draftwired draft rankings.

3- Filip Zadina,W
35- Jake Wise,C
38-Ty Dellandrea,C
56-Jay O'Brien, C
62- Stanislav Demin, D
66-Axel Andersson, D
97-Philip Kurashev, C
102-Kyle Topping, C
121- Filip Kral, D
128-Kevin Mandolese, G
