How do you see the draft playing out.

I gotta think about this whole first round.

- Top 5 Im Hughes, Kakko, Byram, Turcotte, Dach
- I dont think Buffalo goes center even though there was talks of them wanting another center. (Boldy)
- Cozens falls to Edmonton
- Philly takes Podkolzin bc they can afford to let him marinate and go bpa.
- Minny reaches for a righty (Tomasino)
- Florida takes Knight ahead of Arizona who had talks about wanting him
- Colorado and Dallas take Kailyev and Lavoie (dont know why I think they are looking for goal scorers)
- Seider goes one spot ahead of Rangers to Ottawa

Would be happy if we got Tomasino staying put at 20. I fear that many are going to be disappointed without a move up (Seider, Newhook, etc).

Excellent draft for Colorado, consolidation prize for losing 1st ov?

Yeah I think Byram is just too obvious a pick for the Avs and Chicago is pretty much locked in with Turcotte. I honestly struggled to find a spot to put Podkolzin but with the Avs having that 2nd 1st its well worth the gamble at that spot.

If Knight goes to Florida, I think trading into the Arizona spot becomes much more likely but I don't know that the Rangers do it unless Krebs is there (who in all honesty, has a good chance at going to Philly if things play out as I think they will in the top 10.) The next 10 picks or so are kind of all smushed together.

In hindsight, I forgot Broberg who is a bit of a wild card, but I'd expect him to go before we pick.

Overwhelm Philly with AV favorites! Kakko-Krebs-Tomasino would be an amazing 1st round.

Yea I tried really hard not to speculate on the 20th as I feel I build better scenarios as a fan.

Our mocks are close (even though I didnt do an exact list yet). You can see we both have Florida with Knight, for me flip flop Dach and Cozens. I have Podkolzin at 11. I have no idea on Newhook even though I really like him. Boldy at 7 instead of Caufield (him at 10)

I also have Krebs before 14 as you. I think the rangers might need to go to 14 and then add to get to 11 if philly is for real about moving the pick. I really think fans will bitch at the costs. I’d rather them target their guys and pay. You're right a Kakko - Krebs - Tomasino is a serious haul. I do think defense will be in there but I’m not gonna lie I really like your haul and prefer them targeting defense post 1st round. Korczak - McCarthy - Thompson - Johnson post 1st.

Yeah, but I'm REALLY positive this time. :)
I'm no draft guru by any stretch by I agree here. I think this draft will have a lot more movement than normal just because there are so many question marks after 1-2 (not too unusual I guess) and the fact you have Colorado with 4 and 16, NYR with 2 & 20, and a lot of teams with very specific needs or more aptly need to make immediate improvements that will see them move out of the top-10-15 for a NHL player... not someone they have to wait 2-3 years for.

I think this year’s playoffs will have more teams at least considering their options when it comes to making a move they feel gets them over the cutoff.

Will they bite? Depends on the prices and who is available.

But I also wouldn’t get too caught up assuming certain players will be gone when we draft.

Last year Bokk, Veleno, and other names were guys this board talked about and had, at various points, projected would be out of range.

We moved up, we didn’t take them. We took Miller.

There’s a lot of possibilities and we’re typically only able to process a few at a time.
