Injury Report: Downie (concussion) is probable (Nov. 12); Raffl (flu); Newbury sent to AHL (Nov. 10)

Friday (Nov. 1):

Neither will play tomorrow night (Saturday, Nov. 2) at NJD.

Non-concussion as of now for Lecavalier but will be re-evaluated tomorrow.

Downie sent to the hospital, post-game, for further evaluation.

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren gave a further injury update with regards to center Vincent Lecavalier and right wing Steve Downie.

"Steve is doing better, he remains in the hospital and will be released tomorrow," said Holmgren.

Downie is listed as out indefinitely with concussion.

Holmgren added that Lecavalier is day-to-day with a facial contusion.

Lecavalier currently leads the Flyers in goals (5) and points (7) in nine games this season. He missed three games (Oct. 12-17) due to a lower-body injury.

A lot. I hope he is ok, rushed to hospital an hour and a half after he left the game with a concussion?

Hopefully it is something innocent, like him or the team wanted to make sure, or had pain in face, or ambulance waiting until end of game, or doing extra tests in locker. (not head pain or blackout.)

Really hate it for Downie..........He almost scored 10 secs into the game, now is in the hospital after a 7 - 0 blow out...........The bad luck continues for our club every where we turn ! Need to work harder and smarter to break the spell we seem to be under .

You gotta wonder if the players didn't like Talbot being traded..kind of like the way the team responded when they traded Upshall to send a message. Now Downie could be lost for a good amount of time....it's just one debacle after another. Moreover, Downie had no business with that fight....shows you how being a loose canon can come back to bite you. One thing for sure..Talbot was not stupid like that. Probably why Roy made the trade...didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of trying to rein him in like Tocchet said is occasionally needed.
