I know it’s unlikely either are traded, let alone both. For fun though, the Flyers could fit them in if the Kings took some salary back and would be able to offer a huge package of picks/prospects to LA.

Flyers receive:

Anze Kopitar
Drew Doughty

Kings Recieve:

Morgan Frost(2016 1st; Potential top 6 C)
Joel Farabee(2018 1st; Potential top 6 W)
Phil Myers(Almost NHL ready; potential top 4 RHD)
Isaac Ratcliffe(2016 2nd; Potential top 9 W)
Felix Sandstrom(NHL upside G)
2019 1st
2019 2nd
2020 1st
2020 2nd
Radko Gudas(Up after next year)
Andrew MacDonald(Up after next year)
Jori Lehterä(Up this year)

————————

Kings deal two legends from their franchise but receive 9 pieces towards a rebuild. There’s plenty of high end potential amongst those prospects as well. Gudas could also be shipped at this year or next year’s deadline for some draft picks.

If the Kings were to sell off other vets and draft in the top 5-10 for 2019/2020, they’d quickly bounce back in that Pacific Division.

This is clearly a win now move for the Flyers, but they’d have an elite roster in tact for the foreseeable future. Add a competitive goalie along with Hart next year and they’re ready to win immediately. Yes, a coaching change as well.

The Flyers system certainly takes a big hit now and over the next 2 years, but they’d still have some quality prospects in the organization in O’Brien, Allison, Vorobyev, Rubstov, etc.

JVR-Kopitar-Voracek
Giroux-Couturier-Konecny
Lindblom-Patrick-Simmonds

Sanheim-Doughty
Provorov-Ghost

Hart

That core would be in place for the next 4 playoff runs at a minimum outside of Simmonds. It’d be wise to move now for help later on.

LOL, close this nonsense mods.

A whole bunch of nothing for two elite players that doesn't even include players such as Ghost, Provorov or Patrick? Get outta here.

Try McDavid next!

LA is looking for a pair of prospects/picks in the Dahlin and Svechnikov caliber for this pair of elite players, like top three future franchise players. Why? Because we would get that if we dealt them separately.

That’s #1. #2, you’re not paying anywhere near enough for LA to take on those cap dumps. The value of that whole package is closer to even if you take Kopitar and Doughty out of the picture altogether, lol...where you pay us all that just to take your cap dumps.

The OP was on one end of the spectrum.. this comment is on the opposite end. Glad we covered the entire spectrum in 4 posts and can shut it down.

Seems like a realistic trade. Other than, you know, the fact that there's 12 pieces moving one way for 2 in the other direction. Not to mention the fact you're getting two of the very best players in the entire league while the best piece you're giving up in return is Morgan Frost. Swing and a miss.

Outlandish Proposals - Please try and keep any proposals at least somewhat realistic. This isn't to say you can't make a proposal involving Crosby or Ovechkin, but if you're shipping out half of one team for half of another, it's probably better off unposted. Outlandish and lopsided proposals will be closed at the moderator's discretion. Also, as before, if your proposal involves more than three teams, it will be considered outlandish. We don't allow "30 Team Trade" threads - we haven't and we never will. This isn't to keep you from enjoying proposals, but simply putting caps on either end of the spectrum to prevent things from going sour quickly.
