Odds are against it but he absolutely has the scoring ability and you know that no one is supplanting his role. He's too good.

Some folks here actually use pace as real, so I'm sure they'll vote "Yes" here like they would on a poll about a player in their favorite club. :sarcasm:

In actual reality, I'd say Hyman ends with 40-45 goals.

He’s on the best line in hockey (currently) so yeah probably

Expected goals for 16.3 and 5.6 against. No line is even close

That said, it's still stupid coaching to not run RNH as the 3C. Even if it's only a few shifts for matchup reasons

We saw Colorado win a cup with an absurd first line and I think the drop off is massive between RNH and whoever you put there. Unless a trade for a top 6 winger happens, this is likely the way forward

Every spot in the top 6 doesn't need to be a top 6 player. Pens 2015-2016 cup they only had 1 top 6 winger in the top 6 in Hornqvist. Kunitz/Sheary/Rust were all 3rd line level players. Even so, Kessel was on the 3rd line. When you don't have the Avs depth you have to cut the top 6 up to create depth.

Wouldn’t be surprised but I’d lean towards mo because he’s never come close to it and he still needs to maintain a pace he’s never maintaned before this season.

no. I think he settles in around 40 - 45 goals which is still a great year. Has developed into a great player in Edmonton. Aging like fine wine.

I have a theory that McDavid wanted as many goals as possible last year. This year he doesn't care so he's gonna feed Hyman.

Now on pace for 56 and to be honest I think it's about 80% likely he does it barring only injury. On a Matthews like run.
