Depends completely on the referee (quick whistle), no matter what era.

It really only matters about the whistle. Either way Richter was livid after the play, he pinned the ref (can't remember who) right up against the glass pleading his case. But yeah, it all depends on the whistle, 1994 or 2018. This goal counts, and the overtime goal in 1990 that would have forced a 7th game for the Flames did not and they are both pretty much the same.
