Do you tape your shaft?

I do near the top because I have a bad habit of keeping only one hand on the stick. I poke check alot and I tend to drive down the boards with one hand on the stick and another pushing people back. It doesn't work on really good players but where I play it's fine...I also shield the puck in the corners with one arm and have my other on my stick.

Nope. I tape the top 6-8" with a knob at the end and the blade and that's it. I like to be able to slide my hand down for slap shots and the candy striping seems like it would get in the way.

Take some black tape and use the side of the roll to add grip to the shaft. It's a trick I learned in junior. The glue from the outside of the tape (second hand, i guess, however you say it) is used to add grip. It usually wears off by the end of the period, so I ended up doing it three times per game. Not sure if, in the past few years, the tape has gotten stickier or not, but...
