1st in missed shots... 31st in slap shots. Maybe they need to take more slap shots.

It's definitely noticeable. Matthews took one and hit the post the last game. Nylander had a one timer slap shot a few games ago. They always go for redirects. Other than that not many scoring threats from far out which is why they pass the puck so much and never put it on net.

Unless you’re laine, pastrnak, panarin or ovy, slapshots are inefficient shots because they can be inaccurate or ring around the boards and leave the offensive zone/destroy your own cycle. Just think of phaneuf when you think of slap-shots. I always thought snapshots were quick shots with no wind-up.

They need a threat of a slapshot or one timer from the point. That forces the other team to defend against it and opens up other plays.

And those weak wrist shots just don't cut it. I lost track of how many times the other team "blocks" those weak point shots like he's receiving a pass and just goes the other way.
