Can anyone explain how the Avalanche gets, not including All Star Break---seven full days off reg schedule from Jan 21 to Feb 1??
We could use that--it would spare us a few upper body injuries.

Every team gets at least five days off. As mentioned, the Blues had theirs Sunday through Thursday last week before the All Star weekend. If I’m not mistaken, the schedule was set up this season such that almost all teams had their five day break either before or after the All Star break.

A 5 day break is something the PA pushed for and is part of the CBA. It started last season

Which just means they have to play more games with less offdays rest of year
