Divide games 1-7 as you would

Cost of tickets goes up the further along you are in the series...you're not going to win the series or the cup in games 1-3 so 4-7 are increasingly expensive.

Because if you don't put it away in those 4 games you're going to have a hard time.

If the away team splits the home games and goes back to their home arena 2-2 as the underdog then they're in a great spot.
Cost of resale tickets go up.

Scenario1:

Your team is the higher seed, how would you arrange the games 1-7 if you could decide? Remember, only games 1-4 are guaranteed.

Scenario2:

You are with the lower seed, what would now be your best home-road ordering of the games? To supposedly maximize your series winning chances.

I go with:
1:
Road-Home-Home-Road-Road-Home-Home
2:
Road-Home-Home-Road-Road-Home-Road
Higher seed gets the first 7 games at home. Lower seed gets the 0 games at home.

The way it is now. They tried 2-3-2 for a while, and it sucked.
The mass hate for 2-3-2 is caused by a bunch of pretender contenders like the Red Wings, Stars and Leafs in 1994 getting upset vs an underdog that won 2 or 3 of their home games, and their higher ups somehow believing that playing 2-2-1-1-1 would have made things different. Especially hilarious for the ones who lost in 5 after splitting their 2 home games, then losing all the road games.

2-3-2 is great for saving travel, and should be the norm. If your team loses in 5 or 6, they were not the better team, regardless of the home ice format!

If they went 2-2 away as underdogs, then they deserve to be in a great spot. And if they could win 2 games away as the underdogs, why is it now impossible for the favorites to do so?

H-H-H-H-A-A-A is the only one that makes sense, and is the best for logistics as well.

Higher seed gets 4 of the last 5 at home. I think that's a huge advantage.
Teams that start a series down 0-2 have won around 13.4% of the series, and it's not all that different between the favorite and the underdog. Are you sure you want to give the underdog team this opportunity at home?

STH pay the same for every game in a series, but they go up , the further rounds you go.

Start on the road. If you fall behind, game 3 is at home and you can build momentum, if you’re ahead it can help raise it. In an ideal world of course.

Higher Seed- Home, Home, Road, Road, Home, Road, Home

Lower Seed- Road, Road, Home, Home, Road, Home,Road.

So yeah, change nothing because it doesn't need to be.
