Every way. Good offence, lethargic players, **** defence, rely on goaltending too much.
So, basically, only in the most general ways possible?
Who on that team compares to Matthews? Marner? Nylander? Hell, even Marleau? If anything, the difference was that defense was
better than our current one (for all the crap they took, I'd take 2013's Phaneuf, Franson, Liles, and Gunnarsson over our current group purely on talent). Our offense was massively inferior. Outside of Kessel, who never was good enough to carry an offense in the playoffs, and the MacArthur-Grabovsky-Kulemin line, which anyone could tell was playing way over its head, the offense was a massive black hole. Marner, Matthews and Nylander are already significantly better than anyone on that team and they're up to 10 years younger than our core forwards were in 2013. In other words, this year's team is only going to get better next year, while anyone could see our aging team in 2013 was ready to go on a downward trend.
