To be fair everyone before the season was pointing at the third year where Larsson was going to make the jump, where he had to make a jump. So far he's been completely awful, and has still in fact regressed from the first half of his first season.

My opinion is that he will make the jump *whenever* he makes the jump. I'm not going to sit here and put a friggin' deadline on someone. Certain players develop later than others.

We just have to....BE PATIENT.

I feel the same way...the issue is, I'm a little impatient with the gelling process ...

We've seen our team blow a season in October and November in 2010-11 and I don't want to see that happen this season.

I completely understand that it's going to take time and we all knew it before the season started...but it still makes me very nervous.

I get that feeling but I don't think there was ever going to be a way around it. It's a large amount of roster turnover and almost none of these guys have played together ever.

I hope it doesn't cost us anything either but all one can do is be patient.

overeaction to Larsson. he had a bad game..true but my god. No doubt in my mind he improves, and I heavily doubt that they would send him to Albany.

]Larsson played the first Grabner goal badly, but there should be blame on the coaching staff for how they deal with Grabner, ever since Grabner was on the Isles he's been giving us trouble, and also Marty should have had at least Grabner's second goal.

Although I do wish we had Robinson back, better coach for him. Remember when Larsson scored in the playoffs and how Robinson reacted. I think Robinson would have helped Larsson way more than Stevens could.

Exactly. The kid has barely played 100 games in the league, and he's a defenseman. Is it concerning that Larsson hasn't really shown signs of being a franchise defenseman? Yes, but it's still too early to say he won't ever be one. Not every player is going to step right in like a Doughty, or a Subban. Hell, look at Chara's first 200 games in the NHL. Would anybody have figured back then that he'd turn into one of the best defensemen in the league?

Yeah, who else was he going to put out there? Clowe and Elias are our two leading shooters in the shootout lifetime (Clowe is 38.1% on 42 attempts, Elias is 37.9% on 58 attempts). We don't have Kovalchuk/Parise/Brian Gionta/Kozlov anymore. What DeBoer put out there was the best we had with the exception of Zidlicky who should have gone before Ryder.

All of the guys Pete picked were more than capable of scoring a goal. It's not his fault that every single one of them kept trying to force the low dekes after we saw it clearly wasn't working. I wanted to see someone just snipe one past his ear but everyone insisted on moving Nabakov laterally.

Exactly, I was stunned at how no one really tried to rip one by Nabokov.

Exactly. Not one of them challenged Naby's glove which is where he is really weak. Was screaming for someone to lift the damn puck.

The entire coaching staff is costing the Devils especially Stevens if he controls the defense by himself without DeBoer. If DeBoer is involved then shame on DeBoer his time is up.

Henrique is 1-5 in the shootout lifetime and didn't look all that great on the penalty shot Thursday, why do people think he should be an automatic?

I'd have taken Henrique over Ryder (6-36 lifetime in the shootout), sure. But I'd have taken Zidlicky (6-21 lifetime) over Ryder as well. That's the one you can nitpick imo...but the first four should have gone top four and they didn't do it either.
