Yea this felt like one of the top 5 performances for this year for sure - definitely lines up.

Not surprising. I'd put it above just about every game except the Blackwood games against the Islanders and Rangers early in the year and maybe the Daws game against Buffalo. Might be forgetting a few, but Blackwood's rocking chair shutout against the Flyers was not better than this.

He has had glimpses of impressive play at the NHL level this year but tonight was something else. He looked excellent.

Through his first 20 games he had 2 goals and was shooting ~5% on a career average of ~11%. This was with fantastic underlying numbers. Even if you want to say he looked a bit off he was undoubtedly getting very unlucky.

His saves in the first period and the start of the second were key. Plus Rust hitting that post. Our confidence just picked up with getting out of that first period up 3. That’s what good goaltending does.
