Daws had quite a game. he looked great out there, had some big savesI felt like the Penguins were getting lots of quality shots tonight, but it could just be residual from expecting every other shot against to be a goal this season.
This has the makings of a wonderful new HFboards user name
Gillies tomorrow or do you ride a confident Daws?
So is Hischier on a 60 point pace right now ? Not that he’d ever be good enough for some but given how he started the season that’s a significant uptick.
26 goals and 60 pts. Almost like his production stabilized and even improved from his normal like many people here said was going to happen during his unlucky start.
This team is so insanely different with Dougie and solid goaltending.
I hope this strong performance is a sign of big things to come from Daws. It's been unfair to both him and Schmid to be thrown into NHL games at this stage of their development, but Daws rose to the challenge tonight.
he wasn’t just unlucky early. Something was hindering his skating. Then the cheapshot against BUF slowed him for a while. Since he got over that he’s looked better and better as the season has gone on.
His saves in the first period and the start of the second were key. Plus Rust hitting that post. Our confidence just picked up with getting out of that first period up 3. That’s what good goaltending does.Daws had quite a game. he looked great out there, had some big saves

It feels like he’s taken some pressure off himself and that he’s playing more within himself too. He looks more relaxed. Not trying to do so much.Nico is growing up before our eyes. I can't say enough about how his game is rounding out. He's been a real bright spot, even when we suck. That line was really great tonight.

It must also be nice that he finally has a winger too.
