statistically he was one of the worst for xGF% amongst forwards, just ahead of gusev

One game samples of xGF aren't meaningless, but they're not what I would point to regarding a good and bad game. I think Sharangovich did some things okay and obviously he had a breakaway, and overall I think this was one of his best games on the puck.

Jack had one bad turnover, wasn’t noticeably bad at all by my eye. Created a few chances but wasn’t great. That shot he got off from the Gusev feed was one of the best he’s had in the NHL. Very nearly put that in.

The low key crazy part of this season is I’m growing accustomed to Wood having great games at this point.

I was never in the dump Wood camp, I appreciate goal scoring on a team that really needs it, but I’m not going to pretend to have seen this turn around in his overall play coming.

No way to vote for Kuokkanen? That’s not cool. Why is Palms or Subban choices over him? Are yoi going with irony here? I don’t think that’s really fair, particularly since inanimate objects are also taking up a spot.

I was half joking with the poll and asked who to add, I don't think there's a limit, I'll add Kuokkanen.

I mean I agree w you and since xgf is weighted on shot location it's not the whole picture, but it is what it is

We didn't do enough in high danger areas at all

I don't entirely discount advanced stats, but they aren't some religious numerology, either.
All I'm saying is our top line didn't get in high danger areas enough, and that's prob credit to the Philly system. At the same time, the reason the differential is so huge is bc on our end, we didn't stop high danger chance from them either. AGAIN, credit to Philly

They're not going to have a lot of practice at all since they're smack in the middle of a 15 game in 31 day stretch

Well then when is Bratt going to get in the lineup? Next Month (like Late February)?

I think we're underestimating the ways(via Zoom) that Lindy Ruff is using to coach Bratt so he's at least up to speed at what he wants from him when he finally arrives to practice with the team.

There won't be practice tomorrow but there will be practice afterward.

At some point, Bratt is either going to find some time getting some practice OR he's going to be thrown into the fire and use actual Games for his Practice.

I trust in Lindy on how he will approach this.

I wish it was Zacha who was going to take a seat when Bratt gets back. I get why it wouldn't be him.

He's destined for Europe at this rate.

I recall a few years ago there being rumors about his commitment to the game and desire to play. That his Dad was a hockey coach/pundit and pushed him to get to the pros, as one of the those parents that lives their dream via their child.

Never know how true it is, but there's something about him that just seems like he's disinterested in both the way he plays and demeanor. I will say when we drafted him he was ecstatic and loveable, but at the same time, his whole life he was able to get by on his talent. In the NHL, that just isn't cutting it, and I'm sure that zaps the joy of it for him, if it's true that his passion for the game was ruined by his father.

There isn't much practice time coming up. Bratt is going to have to learn the system in the job.

They most likely ease his minutes in and protect him on a lower line for a few games until he adjusts.

He isn't playing Thursday though. They will want him to get at least one practice.

Season is too tightly packed and too short to hold a healthy forward out for an extended time though.

Also pump the brakes a bit on Johnsson being the best forward tonight.

He finally picked his play up after that first point and near first goal, but he first period and half of the second were absolute dog shit.

Have to just hope he has turned a corner now.

Jack was the best player on the ice for us again.

In the last few games it seems like on many shifts Jack is the best player on either team.

We need Vats back ASAP to take as many minutes away from Subban as possible on the PK and PP, dude is a disaster, it's embarrassing watching him out there.
