Couldn't ask for much more for a season opener, except for the Palmieri injury anyway. That didn't look good. It was nice to see Nico stick up for him, and then Hall stepping in too. I almost wish Prout had been in the lineup to take Johnson to task, but scoring on the ensuing PP was just as good for retribution.

It really sucks that it hurts the ability to insulate Hischier too, especially with the Stafford injury.

It's strange there's zero word on Stafford. Did any internet detectives see when he went out?

"The vibe the arena gave off is what I'll remember most," Butcher said after becoming the first Devil to collect three assists in his initial game with the franchise. "It was an unbelievable crowd. And to play my first game with Nico and Jesper, it's like we were all in this together. It was a great feeling"

That was a really fun game, but lets not forget we gave up 41 shots to and failed to score an ES goal against the worst team in the league.

Our RW depth was bad to begin with and now we've lost our #1 and #2.

Let's enjoy the win but keep a little perspective.

Nice & solid home opener. But of course the injury bug shows up. Better early than later I guess.
So they went with a site upgrade, huh.

That shot total was no way accurate and they were a result of lots of PKs and being undermanned.

We also would have had a few ES goals if Bernier didn't turn into Hasek in the third there.

Leafs are going to be a big test on Wednesday for us. Curious to see how we go toe-to-toe with them if we try to play an up-tempo game.

Maybe MoJo can switch to RW, he was useless as a LW

The intelligent minds on the Rangers board says Zacha sucks and the only reason why we won was because Bernier was in net. Bernier was the reason why we didn't put up 7 or 8 goals....dopes.

The Butcher looks like he'll be at least a power play specialist, if not a bit more than that.

They clearly weren't watching the game. I thought Bernier played pretty damn good for allowing 4 goals. I don't think he had a chance on any of them. 3 of them were power play goals and the other was a shorthanded goal.

The Avalanche have yet to allow an even strength goals in these two games, which is a pretty funny stat. I'm pretty sure both Rangers goals the other night were on the power play against them.
