I honestly expected dallas to be making serious noise. I recall everyone complaining why Lou couldn't build like they did, but now look at them.

Guess building a winning team is harder then some arm chair GMs want to admit.

Oh man I had quite the headache when I woke up.. Popped a multivitamin and some NAC (for liver repair) with a ton of water.. I'm at that age though where I'll be back at it tonight lol

I haven't watched any Stars game this season so I don't know what the problem is, but it just looks like poor defense and goaltending so far. I like what they've done these past few off-seasons but their defense is still a bit suspect. I thought, and maybe the Stars did too, that Oleksiak would have a greater impact on defense. And even just looking at a few of their top defensemen prospects and they all seem to be offensive-minded players. It seems like they're the opposite of us with good young forwards and not a great defense pool but with a good goalie (not sure why Kari is struggling so much this season, I think he's a really good goalie though).

Also Nichushkin (goodness that's difficult to spell) has only played 4 games, and even though their biggest concern is defense, I'm sure having him in consistently would help a lot.

I'd love to watch this game and join ya'll in the drunks thread but these papers are killing me. And my procrastination game is on point right now too so that doesn't help

Nill has not had much time as GM. Barely a full year and a half.

I'm very encouraged for their future with him at the helm.

1 - Defense sucks

2 - Lehtonen is overrated at this point

3 - Spezza and Hemsky are irresponsible and cause many problems

Some great young forwards, but people were expecting way too much. The more complete teams in the Western conference are simply too much for them to handle on a night in, night out basis. They need to overhaul a few things and try again next year.

I don't think it's fair to say Lehtonen is overrated just yet, if this keeps up for the entire season then maybe. But he's played great leading up to this season and 23 games isn't enough to shake my opinion on him.
