You have to have some defensive awareness even when it's 3 on 3. Malkin only sees two Devils in the zone so he has to know someone was behind him.

From the 2nd period, the guy did absolutely everything possible for his team to win but some bad plays from his teammates as well as some really bad luck (NJ are so lucky against us grrrr) prevented us to win

Murray allowed one 5 on 5 goal. He wasn't the problem.

+ Ruds - Played well on D
+ Rust - was buzzing around all night in the O zone

= Sheary - was skating well but then faded as the game went on
= Murray made some good saves but gave up a weak one - OT wasn't on him tho

- The whole team in the 2nd period

Usually you'd think the D-Man would be the most aware there and simply fall back but no, he curls toward the OZ instead like the bafoon he is.
Anywho, that 3rd was fun with the winger switch.
Need to get ZAR in the mix and break up the Sheary-Brass-Phil thing.
And for the love of G-d, bring Jooris up permanantly and bench Kuhnackl.

They will then emphatically state that no team in the East will be able to keep up with or defeat the Pens in the postseason...

This team is brutally flawed and there is no fix for it, none.

The number 1, high dollar d man is a train wreck nearly every night.

4th line is a black hole.

Murray is inconsistent and flat out brutal at times this season.

But hey, that switch will be found eventually!!!
